How does Sparkfield Core work?
Sparkfield Core utilizes electric drives to adjust both the force and the
motion path to the user and the set training program. The measurement accuracy and control are so precise that Sparkfield Core can be extremely sensitive but also rigorously strong when needed.
Sparkfield Core adjusts the required counterforces/loads via software through the drives. There is no need to accelerate or decelerate
mechanical weights. The trained muscles experience controlled and sustained exertion, making the training highly efficient and injury-resistant.
This enables safe training up to so-called muscle failure. There are many
other advantages for the user.
The "kg" set on the machine cannot be directly compared to the weights used with free weights. With the machine, you can train with significantly lower "weights" to achieve the same muscle stress or training success.
Without moving masses, there is no need to load and unload weights. And
a load cannot fall uncontrollably.
What special benefits does Sparkfield Core offer?
Sparkfield Core can vary the load during each phase of the exercise,
enabling modern training methods such as eccentric overload, supersets,
drop sets, and variable load profiles. This provides the device with a diverse and effective training experience.
The user can conveniently operate a complete full-body workout on one device and literally at the push of a button. Since Sparkfield Core stores all
user data, the device positions itself accordingly before each exercise and also adjusts the correct loads.
Over time, Sparkfield Core becomes increasingly better and more versatile.
One can compare the basic device to a smartphone, where each exercise,
training method, evaluation function, and trainer function acts as a separate
software app. Currently, we have already unlocked 16 exercises, including the "Big Five": bench press, lat pulldown, deadlift, squat, and shoulder press.
Each user has access to the entire training history via their personal account and receives tailored recommendations.
Two other points make Sparkfield Core unmistakable compared to other electrified devices: precise motion guidance in 2D and extremely sensitive
force measurement.
The additional degrees of freedom in movement allow the start and end points or the motion to be individually tailored to the user. This is important, for example, in the shoulder press to support individuals with limited shoulder mobility.
The device captures the user's force both left and right, in their direction,
and this to within a few grams. As a result, our device can perfectly adapt
both the force and the motion path to the user's anatomy. The force is always applied in an unparalleled manner along the motion.
How big is the device?
The mechanical structure of the device is designed to accommodate individuals with heights ranging from 155 cm to 200 cm, providing access to a variety of common exercises for all major muscle groups. Both
standing and seated exercises are possible, with the bench easily
removable and installable by anyone.
The maximum dimensions of the device are 230 cm in length and 80 cm in
width, comparable to a treadmill. The weight of the machine is
approximately 300 kg.
Is instruction required?
While the main focus was on an intuitive design of the device, allowing
users to quickly and efficiently use the device according to their individual
preferences and prior knowledge, we always recommend an initial
instruction by a trainer. This is to ensure a complete understanding of the
device's functionality and capabilities.
The integration of various features ensures that both experienced fitness
enthusiasts and beginners can effectively use the device and receive
support in achieving their fitness goals. The following list provides an
overview:
1.) Instructional videos: Short videos demonstrating the correct execution
of exercises and helping users understand the movements.
2.) Avatar function during exercise execution: A virtual trainer guiding users
through exercises and providing feedback on technique.
3.) Summary: Visual analysis of training, summary of completed exercises,
number of repetitions, trained muscle groups, performance evaluation, and
more.
4.) Onboarding: An easy-to-understand onboarding process including
setting up new users, measuring relevant body dimensions, and strength
tests.
5.) Assistance in training plan creation: Help in creating an individualized
training plan tailored to the user's goals and needs.
6.) Regular progress monitoring: The device can track the user's progress
and help them achieve their goals by recording and analyzing training data.
Is there a warranty?
In general, we offer a 3-year warranty for Sparkfield Core. This warranty covers a variety of device components and functions. However, there are certain conditions and limitations to consider:
Scope of the warranty: The warranty typically covers manufacturing defects
and defects that occur during normal use.
Limitations: Certain conditions may apply that affect the scope of the
warranty. For example, the warranty may become void if the device is used
or modified improperly. Additionally, damage due to vandalism or improper
maintenance may not be covered by the warranty.
Limitations for wear parts: Shorter warranty periods may apply to wear
parts such as handles, seat cushions, and similar components that are
subject to natural wear and tear over time.
How to set suitable training loads?
A proven rule of thumb for muscle building suggests that exercises should
last approximately 45-90 seconds and should be performed until muscle
failure, meaning no further clean repetitions are possible. But how do you
find the optimal values for load and number of repetitions?
Sparkfield Core provides a solution: By measuring the force for each individual exercise, the system calculates a proposal for training to muscle failure based on this data. This allows users to precisely adjust their
training loads and perform effective workouts.
However, force measurement goes even further, as it captures the force
behavior along the entire motion. The goal is to adjust a variable load along the motion that precisely matches the user's individual force curve. This is particularly relevant for exercises such as the chest press. At the beginning, the force is high, then there is a range where it becomes more difficult (the so-called "sticking point"), and in the end, the force increases again. By adjusting the load along this curve, the training becomes even more
effective.
